Dr. Norman Sidney Remmele II
 
Dr. Norman Sidney Remmele II, 69, husband of Frances McCracken Remmele, died Sunday,
April 15, 2007, at his residence.
 
He was born in Baltimore and was a son of the late Frances Turner and Norman S. Remmele.
 
He graduated from Catlettsburg High School and the University of Kentucky, where he was a
member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He earned a degree in veterinary medicine from
Auburn University.
 
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served at Fort Dietrich, Md., in biological warfare. Dr.
Remmele was a past president of the Dalmation Club of America and a member of Lexington
Kennel Club and Southern Hills United Methodist Church. He was an approved multiple group
and best in show dog show judge, judging in the United States as well as Australia, China and
South Africa.
 
He bred and showed Dalmation dogs under the Tuckaway prefix and owned the top male
Dalmation dogs in the United States between 1996 and 2001. He owned the best of breed winner
at the Dalmation Club of America national specialty in 1973, 1998 and 1999.
 
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Julie Remmele (David) Brockman and
Katherine Leigh (Kevin) Webster; four grandchildren, Natalie and Ben Rion and Sarah and Cody
Webster; and a brother, Robert W. (Linda) Remmele.
 
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main Street in
Lexington by the Rev. Dennis Burrows.
 
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. today at Kerr Brothers.
 
After the funeral at Kerr Brothers, there will be visitation at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home in
Catlettsburg from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. today, with a committal service at Catlettsburg Cemetery at
3:30 p.m. today. The Rev. Pete Miller will offer words of comfort.
